What a Fete!

What an excellent day - perfect weather, great stalls and activities, terrific support from right across the parish, generous support from the traders of the community who supported the Fete Flyers so well, and wonderful support from the community which we serve.

Thank you to all the volunteers who made it such a success – cooks, carters (of all manner of things), cleaners, and collaborators (John Sutherland the auctioneer, Joshua Tooth the muso, ‘Shorty’ courtesy of Maureen and Graeme Kurzman, and ‘Mr Castles’ who donated the use of his jumping castle).

Thank you one and all, it was a terrific day, and well worthwhile – the total after costs will probably be over $11,000. Well done everyone.

Check out the fun we all had here!

Fete - THIS Saturday!

“Parish Poo” Day

On Saturday 22nd October 11 Kilmore parishioners braved the wet and cold and headed out to Payne’s farm to shovel bag loads of sheep manure as a fundraiser for the upcoming Fete. Over 100 bags were filled with great camaraderie between the ‘shovellers’, the bag ‘holders’, the tie-ers, and the delivery men. This was followed by a great BBQ - thanks Douglas.

If anyone wants a bag of “parish poo” at the bargain price of $10 a bag (great for the garden), come along to the Parish Fete on Saturday November 12th.

Friday Night Social

In the last six months in the parish has enjoyed the start of monthly “Friday Night Socials”. For no other purpose than to get together with fellow parishioners and friends, these social evenings have been a wonderful time of fellowship and fun. Last Friday about 20 of us got together for a great evening - photos here!

Keep watching the Pew Sheet for news of the next ‘Friday Night’. Everyone most welcome.

Fundraising Concert

As part of the ongoing fundraising for the renovations at Christ Church, a great concert was held in the church with local Jazz Ensemble “Mercury”. Many thanks to those who came and supported this, and to the members of “Mercury” for their wonderful music.

Watch this space for details of further renovation fundraising ventures!

Baptism at Christ Church

At the morning Eucharist at Christ Church on Sunday 9th October, we warmly welcomed Claire Swift into the Church of God through the waters of Holy Baptism. We pray for Claire and her family, as she starts her life as the newest member of our Anglican family.

Saint Matthew’s Patronal Festival

What a great day at St Matthew’s, Broadford celebrating their Patronal Festival. Visiting preacher for the day was Archdeacon John Davis who was delighted to make his first visit to St Matthew’s, and meet parishioners from all parts of the parish. Following the morning Eucharist, was a wonderful time of fellowship and feasting in Gavan Hall.
