Palm Sunday

Our traditional Palm Sunday celebrations at Christ Church started off in Church House with the opening prayers and the blessing of the palms, before processing through the church grounds into Christ Church where the Eucharist continued with the Ministry of the Word, and the reading of the Passion Gospel.  A great and wonderful way to begin Holy Week.

Inaugural Parish Friday Night Social

Friday April 9th saw the ‘Inaugural Parish Friday Night Social’ take place at the Rectory.  It is hoped that this will become a regular event in the parish diary, and a great time for parishioners to relax and enjoy themselves and get to know each other.  For the young and ‘young at heart’, a great time was had by all.  Check out the fun here!

Christ Church Renovations continue……

Renovations have been going on for one month now with much work taking place. Major cracks have been found, and the foundations are shallower than initially thought but work IS progressing.

More photos are on this site showing the work that has taken place from February 15th to March 15th.  The latest work has been the ‘reo’ cages for the Pier holes - check out photos here!

“Impromptu” Rectory Working Bee

After a pile of garden mulch was kindly ‘donated’ to the Church, an impromptu Rectory Working Bee took place over the long weekend.  Great fun and laughter and a lot of hard work produced some wonderful results.   Check out the work in progress so far!

Pew Sheet

The latest parish pew sheets can be found by visiting the Pew Sheet link available on the right hand side of this site. Pew Sheets will be added weekly.

Christ Church Renovations Begin

With great excitement, it was wonderful to see the machinery arrive and at last the renovation work on Christ Church begin. Under the guidance of Ian Staring, work started on the roof and guttering last week.  Regular updates with photos will be on this site (on the photos page), as well as fundraising information to help get this massive project off the ground.

The first fundraising occasion was held at Christ Church on Sunday 20th February, with the Willowmavin Chamber Ensemble playing to a captive audience.

Willowmavin Chamber Ensemble

On Sunday 20th February at 2.00pm, the Willowmavin Chamber Ensemble will be performing at Christ Church, Kilmore.  Cost $20 adults and $10 pensioners or students.  All proceeds towards the restoration of our lovely church.  Tickets available at the door or from Kilmore Bookstore or phone Catherine 0400 687 771.

Black Saturday Commemoration Service

On Sunday 6th February, the parish held a commemorative service at Christ Church, Kilmore to mark the second anniversary of Black Saturday.  The intercessions and prayers were offered for all those affected by the fires on that day.  Jenni Tayler also spoke of her experience and gave all an insight into the lives of some of those who had lost so much.

Lord, continue to be with those who suffer and be with them in their time of rebuilding their lives.
