carol service
December 2019
Little did we know that our full church for the Parish Christmas Carol service, would be one of the last times for many months that our community could gather for a public service.
What a joyous occasion to welcome many from the local community and beyond to enjoy the true story of Christmas, watch the nativity be re-enacted, and sing many well known Carols.

Every Advent, each centre in the Parish, has an Advent Candle ceremony at the start of each service. A verse of “O come, O come Emmanuel” each week, and a different member of the congregation lights the candles.
Photos below show our oldest parishioner at Christ Church, Beris Hannam, lighting the candle for Advent 4.

creation sunday
September 2019
The Parish of Kilmore kept Creation Sunday in September as a time of reflecting and giving thanks to God for all he has given us. The gift of light and life; the gift of plants and all living things; and most of all the gift of water which sustains us and feeds us.
Our wonderfully talented and gifted Patty DuPlooy created an amazing area in front of the altar at Christ Church, depicting life and water in our world with plants, running water (water feature), ‘animals’ (of the concrete garden ornament kind) and a globe representing our world.
Bishop John’s soup winter appeal

Each winter Bishop John would launch the Diocesan Winter Appeal asking parishes and parishioners for donations to help those less fortunate than ourselves.
Our parish held several Soup Luncheon’s during the winter months, with monetary donations being requested to go towards the appeal, and soup requested to go to those in need.
Thank you to everyone for your support.

With the retirement of Bishop John coming up at the end of 2019, it was with mixture of joy and sadness that he joined the parish for his final episcopal visit on August 4th. Servers from Kilmore and Broadford joined together with Bishop John and Fr André for the Eucharist. Being just the day before his birthday, the parish surprised him with a birthday cake and gift.
Thank you Bishop John for your ministry to our Diocese. Happy retirement at the end of the year.
bunnings bbq fundraiser
July 2019
The parish is always looking for different ways to get out into the community for fundraising. On a cold winters day, parishioners braved the cold to cook sausages all day at a Bunnings Fundraiser.
With thanks to Bunnings at Craigieburn for having us; for the helpers who worked tirelessly, and for the customers who supported us.

Mothers Day
May 2019
For Mother’s Day in 2019, parishioners Betty, Patty and Helen decided to do put on a lunch for those Mothers in the community without family around them on this special day. With social media and local paper advertising, the response was one of great gratitude. Well done ladies for your great idea, and thank you to all who responded with cooking, setting up, clearing away, and attending.
