Prayer for those affected by the bushfires

Loving God, we hold before you all who have been impacted by the bushfires this week across Victoria.

We pray for all who have suffered the loss of homes, gardens, beloved pets and livestock, and livelihoods. Pour your comfort into their hearts and may those who come alongside them show deep listening and empathy.

We pray for all who have been traumatised by these fires, having to evacuate and leave beloved livestock behind, not knowing even now if their homes have been destroyed, those whom these fires have triggered

past traumas and those who are simply deeply saddened by the destruction the fires have caused. Give all who are impacted strength and courage to face each new day.

We pray for all emergency personnel and first responders, for CFA volunteers and staff, for Forest Fire Management employees, for SES volunteers, Red cross and VCCEM support volunteers, and police who are currently keeping communities and people safe through roadblocks. Give them the strength to work the long hours required and support from their families and the communities in which they serve.

We pray in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
